Community Action Group Toolbox

Community Action Starts Here

New Hampshire politics can feel overwhelming, but taking action is easier when we do it together.

603 Forward is helping people start Community Action groups: small, local gatherings where neighbors, friends, and community members can talk about what’s happening, learn how decisions at the State House affect their lives and take action together.

You do not need to be a political expert or experienced organizer. You just need a few people who care about their community.

Why This Matters

New Hampshire has one of the largest state legislatures in the country. Your state represenative represents about 3,00 people. That means political power livse close to home.

State reps shape housing, education, healthcare, voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedom, public safety, and the everyday lives of people across the state.

They are also your neighbors. You can contact them, ask them questions, hold them accountable, and organize with others to make sure your community is heard.

What Community Action Groups can do

Community Action Groups can:

  • sign in remotely on state legislation

  • contact state representatives and senators

  • talk through local issues

  • help people understand who represents them

  • support get-out-the-vote efforts

  • identify and support community members running for office

Groups an meet however works best for them; at a library, coffee shop, someone’s kitchen table, a community space or over Zoom.
