Session Starts with Bipartisan Support for Strengthening Free and Fair Elections

House Vote Advances Online Election Information Portal, Funding for New Ballot Counting Devices

CONCORD, N.H. – Today, the New Hampshire House passed House Bill 463 and House Bill 447, common-sense bills that will strengthen our elections and support hardworking election officials. Matt Mooshian, Advocacy and Engagement Director for 603 Forward, issued the following statement:

“Our democracy is strongest when everyone can participate in the process. We’re glad to see a strong bipartisan House vote in support of legislation that strengthens our democracy and makes it more accessible so that every Granite State voter's voice is heard. HB 463 initiates the process of our state building an online election information portal to make our elections more modern and efficient, and HB 447 allocates existing federal funds to municipalities, allowing them to replace their rapidly aging ballot counting devices. The passage of these bills, if implemented and acted on correctly by the Secretary of State's office, will be a strong step forward to modernize our election infrastructure and improve voter access.

We look forward to both of these bills advancing through the legislative process and finally becoming a reality for Granite State voters. We know we can count on young leaders in the Senate to help get the job done.”

603 Forward envisions a thriving New Hampshire where people are free to live, work and raise a family. In our New Hampshire: democracy is protected above all else; young people have a voice in government at all levels; and policy changes to help build an inclusive, affordable and resilient state.
