603 Forward & The Forward Foundation Name Matt Mooshian as Interim Executive Director

CONCORD — The Boards of Directors of 603 Forward and The Forward Foundation – New Hampshire’s leading civic engagement and democracy advocacy organizations – have named Matt Mooshian of Claremont as Interim Executive Director effective April 17, 2026.

“603 Forward and The Forward Foundation are excited about the future of our organizations and our ability to bring about meaningful change in the Granite State. Matt Mooshian is the type of young, driven, and capable leader who can help us meet the moment, especially in this challenging time in our state and nation,” said Dr. Nathan R. Shrader, Chair of the 603 Forward Board of Directors. “Matt cares deeply about New Hampshire and has the vision and skillset necessary to make sure we are fully prepared for a vigorous and successful 2026 election year and beyond as we implement policies that benefit all Granite Staters.”

Mooshian is a native of Newport and attended Colby Sawyer College. He has served as Program Director at 603 Forward and The Forward Foundation for nearly five years where his work has played a pivotal role in program development, engaging with the future leaders of New Hampshire, and advocating for working-age adults throughout the state. Between training citizens to speak up for issues they care about to finding young leaders to run for every office in New Hampshire, Matt envisions a state that draws in young people and gives them a space to thrive. Matt got his start in organizing working with Save the Children Action Network on their full day kindergarten campaign in NH and has since worked on several campaigns in the Granite State.

Mooshian provided the follow statement to 603 Forward and The Forward Foundation’s staff, board members, donors, supporters, and allies:

“I’m excited and honored to step into the role of Interim Executive Director of 603 Forward and The Forward Foundation at an important moment for our organizations and the communities we serve. I’ve been part of this work since the early days, and I’ve had the privilege of seeing both organizations grow, evolve, and expand opportunities for emerging leaders across New Hampshire.

Folks throughout New Hampshire are feeling real pressure; rising costs, strained local budgets, and tough decisions about how our public systems are funded and sustained. We exist to meet this moment by helping more people step up, run for office, and serve their communities. By equipping leaders with the tools, training, and support they need, we can make our towns and our state work for the people who live here, not just those with wealth and power.”
